Elijah Sproles makes traditional and contemporary chairs by hand in his New Hampshire shop. Each piece crafted one at a time uses locally sourced wood, selected for both beauty and strength.
As an artist, I am drawn to chairs because of their sculptural angles and positive and negative space. As a craftsman, I appreciate the simple tools used to create a chair. I use this combination of artist and craftsman to produce my work, striving to make pieces that are both beautiful and suitable for everyday use.
